Disney+ Really is Worth the Hype!

Disclaimer: This is just one mom’s personal view of this new service. I did not receive anything from Disney to talk about their product. We also love Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu for streaming services. However, Disney + is new so I thought many would want to hear about it.

So Disney Plus got released today! I have been waiting for this day. I saw the discounted price if you agreed months ago to it, but we wanted to try the Hulu, Espn, Disney bundle so I waited until today to sign up.  Let me tell you – after just a bit of surfing and watching – it is 100% worth the hype and the price per month.   Here are some of my personal highlights!

Disney + Profiles

I love the ability to create profiles in any program and this is no different. My kids loved picking their own Disney character.  And I loved having the option to make my kids’ profiles ones that are for kids and therefore curbing the content they see.

Navigation

I haven’t used it long, but I already love the navigation. It’s easy to pick from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Disney, and such on the main menu. I also love the categories that come up like Princesses, movies with lots of songs, shorts, feel-good sports movies, Disney channel originals, and more.  The throwbacks and out of the vault ones are top of our list!  And there are lots of documentaries, based on a true story, ones we’ve never seen, more that look great!

Disney + Content

It’s Disney – you just can’t go wrong here, especially if you have kids. SO MANY GOOD SHOWS AND MOVIES.  It has the classics, the new ones, the ones from your childhood (Tale Spin, anyone? That was a blast from the past when I saw it) and more!   We’ve never had cable for our kids so they were thrilled to see PJ Masks, Doc McStuffins and more from the Disney channel.  I can’t wait to share so many great movies with my kids as they get older. And if you’re one of the minorities like my husband and I who have never seen a Star Wars movie, we are now set to watch them!  Our son is thrilled – he’s been asking!

Price

For the amount of content, I personally think $7 a month is more than fair. It’s like buying 1 cheap DVD a month, going out for a nice coffee, or a few Redbox rentals.  We are now in the boat of deciding which streaming services we actually will want because I have a feeling Disney+ is the new frontrunner that will be played ALL.THE.TIME until my kids watch everything on their wishlists to watch. Good thing it’s already winter outside!

I’d love to hear what others think. There is a 7-day trial to try it out.  But I think many families will love it as much as we do!
