40 Random Acts of Kindness

Last month, I resolved to serve in the Green Bay community. Random Acts of Kindness week gives me a reason to serve even more. So I decided to share my list of ideas that I want to implement not only this week but all year round.

40 Ideas for Random Acts of Kindness:

1. Pay for someone’s coffee, meal, or even groceries.
2. Bake cookies for your neighbors.
3. Buy flowers for a single mom.
4. Send a thank you note to a teacher who impacted you.
5. Help someone pack their groceries into their car.
6. Shovel someone’s driveway and sidewalk.
7. Babysit for a couple so they can have a date night.
8. Give a word of encouragement to a mom or dad dealing with a child having a tantrum
9. Give up your seat for someone else
10. Pump gas for someone else at the gas station on a cold day
11. Leave a gift for your mail carrier
12. Donate school supplies to local schools
13. Make a meal for a family who just had a baby.
14. Smile at someone who is used to being not noticed
15. Bring gifts to a nursing home
16. Leave change on the machines in the laundromat.
17. Put change in a meter whose time has run out.
18. Hold the door open for another
19. Take a neighbor’s dog for a walk for them.
20. Change someone’s tire if they are stranded on the road.
21. Buy a gift and visit someone in the hospital.
22. Do a chore for someone else in your household
23. Pick up the litter on the street or in the park

32. Write letters to the lonely (military, in nursing homes, those who lost a loved one)
33. Send a text to a friend telling them why you are grateful for their friendship
34. Take a neighbor’s trash can to the road for pick-up
35. Give blankets to the homeless
36. Compliment a co-worker in front of their boss
37. Give a larger tip
38. Help someone who gets stuck in the snow

40. Give someone a gift card for no reason. You don’t even need to know them!
