Holiday Lights Tour | Green Bay Area Mom

Holiday Lights :: Green Bay and Appleton Areas

Admittedly this Christmas season is going to look a little different. With COVID forcing us all to stay cozily snug in our own homes, some traditions are on hold; remaining in our memories waiting for next year to come out and make more memories.

Fortunately, there is a family-friendly COVID-safe activity just waiting for everyone to enjoy!! Driving around to look at Christmas light displays is one of my favorite Christmas memories as a child. My Mom insists this was a family outing with the intention of getting us to sleep without the nightly bedtime routine fight (“Mom, I’m thirsty! “Mom, I need another hug!!” etc…).

Each year Americans buy roughly 150 million Christmas lights to decorate their houses and yards. So, whether you need a minute of peace and quiet, or need to avoid that night time fight routine, we’ve compiled a list of holiday lights in the Green Bay and Appleton areas for your enjoyment!

Fox Cities Festival of Lights — CANCELED
We are sad to hear this event has been canceled this year. Here is what the board has posted on their website: “We are very sorry to have to cancel our event this year but due to the severity of the virus in our area our board members felt it was the only responsible thing to do. We had several discussions with local health officials to help guide our decision. We will be setting up some displays throughout the community so take a drive around town. We will be announcing these locations on our Facebook page. You can also look forward to our 2021 season. We will be back!!! Thank you for your support!”

  1. I love to see the lights of Christmas, whether it is a single string on a bush, a simple lit figure in a window, or a grand display filling a yard or covering a house. They are all HUGE in my book and as I pass by each house that has even a single light on for Christ’s birth, I pray, “Thank you and God bless you.” I used to light up our house, gradually expanding our display over the years and eventually using computerized animation & music. It was never for me, but for the glory of the Lord and to inspire others to follow him. Now, I have passed my electronics on to my daughter, who works hard each year to provide such inspiration at her house. Her display is listed here, on this site, but I will not specify which one it is. Thank you, all, who do this wonderful thing for our Christmas.
