It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years. 5 years of owning Green Bay Area Mom. 5 years of developing relationships with moms. 5 years of developing relationships with local businesses. 5 years of creating amazing local events for moms and families.
But it seems 5 years is where it ends.
When I purchased Green Bay Area Moms Blog back in 2019, I had no idea what I was doing. I was just a mom with young kids looking for something more. While I have a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, I have never taken a business class in my life. The only event I ever planned was my wedding. And social media – I didn’t know there was so much to it.
I steered GBAMB through a rebrand, and then through a pandemic, but I knew it would never continue to grow with just myself doing ALL. OF. THE. THINGS. Convincing Jen to come on as my co-owner was the best decision I ever made with Green Bay Area Mom.
And it was the decision that will take GBAM far beyond what I ever imagined. There are so many exciting things on the horizon for GBAM and I am excited to cheer them on.
If you miss me, you can always come visit me at AVIVA. I found my next adventure walking beside a strong woman who owns an incredible health and wellness clinic. She has changed my life and I am so excited for my next chapter.
My biggest blessing has been all of you.
Truly, without your support of our community, it could never have grown into what it is today. It has always been for you, but I gained so much from it.
I learned what it was like to own a business – lots of hours and little pay.
I learned what it was like to respect others’ choices for motherhood.
I learned our community supports each other through business and life.
I learned how much I am going to miss all of this.
Jen, I am so glad you came into my life. I am incredibly lucky that you joined me in this journey. GBAM is even luckier to have you leading them. I can’t wait to see where you take GBAM.
