Fall 2011. It has now been 6 months since Lily’s first knee injection, and about 8 months since we found her initial swollen knee. We were once again facing Lily going back in for more steroid injections. Her right knee, left knee and the top of her right foot all had fluid sitting on the joints.
Honestly, do any parents feel balanced more than 10% of the time?
Let's face it Moms, we all need a night out! Being a mom is an exhausting, self-sacrificing, and most of the time thankless job (even though it is worth the work). So sometimes we need to get out of all of the serving and just have a little fun. So gather up some friends and try these ideas and places for your next Moms Night Out!
I sat in church on Mother’s Day, with tears streaming down my face. Our church was sensitive to the fact that Mother’s Day isn’t always a happy holiday, saying “Happy Mother’s Day to all of you wishing to be mothers, all those who have lost their mothers…” I heard them, but I didn’t feel the words. In my heart, I felt I would never be a mother, and it was devastating.
Everyone knows Wisconsin is the Dairy State, but our food selections go far beyond the dairy aisle. In fact, coming to Wisconsin and only tasting our cheese is like ordering a hot fudge sundae and eating only the cherry on top.
Summer is all about adventures and making memories! This is also a great time of year to make a bucket list of things you want to see and do! The kids can help make your summer bucket list as well. There is a lot of joy and satisfaction that comes with crossing items off of it! There are tons and tons of summer bucket lists out there, but here are 25 creative ideas you might not have thought of to add to your list before!
I have been a momma for almost 12 years, and I love jewelry, candles, flowers and chocolate but quite honestly I have enough of all of those. And I know my mom and mother-in-law are, too. So I asked myself “what would I like to get for Mother’s Day?” And the answer was so simple…somethings the boys could make me! So that is what spawned the idea to find an easy, inexpensive and kid friendly project we could do for the Grandmas.
Lets face it, normal life doesn't stop just because it is Mother's Day. Some everyday tasks still need finishing. Sometimes my expectations of the day do not allow me to notice the small wonderful things that my children do for me. And either I can focus on how bad I feel because I didn't get what I expected or I can see what is there.
5. Connect with other moms and make new friends! Whether you are a 1st time mom, a mom of four, or considering expanding your family through pregnancy, surrogacy, fostering, or adoption, you are welcome. A little shy? Grab your friend, mom, sister, husband, or partner. Yes, the morning is geared towards new and expecting moms, but moms need a support system. Why would BLOOM be any different? A little shy and don't have anyone to bring with? Study my picture at the bottom of this post and find me. I would love to meet and learn more about you! Breakfast pastries, coffee and juice will be available. Perfect for a morning of mingling and celebrating motherhood!
When I was pregnant with my girls I was so confident that I was going to have natural, un-medicated births. I may have even zoned out a bit during the C-Section portion of my birth classes. But as fate would have it, here I am status post C-Section x 2. Perhaps if I hadn't been so confident I may have heard the discussion about the amount of pain that comes with a C-Section. My post is not meant to scare anyone. But I'm hoping that by sharing my experience with pain, those of you who go through a C-Section are a little better prepped for the pain than me.
