We are just a little over a week away from BLOOM 2018 | An Evening for Green Bay Area Moms. On Thursday, April 19th our goal is to provide Green Bay area moms with a night out that is fun and resourceful. The night will offer vendor tables, shopping, pampering, appetizers, goody bags for each attendee and some amazing giveaways. We will also dedicate a portion of the evening to a Q&A session with experts from varying fields. We want to briefly introduce you to this year’s panel. Be sure to come with questions!

Meet the Experts

Becky Buelow, MD, is a pediatric and adult asthma and allergy specialist located at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin specialty clinic in Neenah.  Becky sees patients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and she is accepting new patients. 

She earned her medical degree and completed her residency and fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Becky is also an assistant professor of allergy/immunology in the pediatrics department at the Medical College.

Becky and her husband, Matt, a Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin pediatric cardiologist in Neenah, have a 2-year-old daughter and twin sons, who will celebrate their first birthday in July. 

 


Emily Jacobson is the 0wner of Green Bay Doulas, a full-service agency supporting families in the greater Green Bay area.

Emily’s strength lies in supporting women and their families through the childbearing years, in whatever manner they envision it unfolding. Unbiased and judgment-free support are the cornerstones on which Emily has built Green Bay Doulas. She is a certified labor doula, postpartum and infant care specialist, newborn care specialist, certified childbirth educator, encapsulation specialist and sleep coach consultant.

Emily’s ability to build mutual respect and admiration with providers and hospital administrators has been a tremendous asset to the families she supports. She is a resident member of the board of directors for NeighborWorks Green Bay where she sits on the executive committee a secretary and chair of the marketing committee. Emily is an active member of the local Chamber of Commerce and foster family for Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary.

Emily’s accolades include:
● Future 15 Young Professional recipient by the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce
and Current Young Professionals.
● 2 time Nominee for Entrepreneur of the Year by the Future 15 and Young Professionals
● Nominated for Business Person of the Year for the Business Recognition Luncheon through
the Greater Green Bay Area Chamber.

Her two absolute favorite things to do are to explore nature and enjoy an evening bonfire in the backyard with her husband and daughters.


Karen DeBaker, Raymond James (Bellevue) is a financial planner focused on personal and family financial needs.  Her genuine and approachable style as a Financial Advisor allows her to work in tandem with clients, understanding their core beliefs and investment experiences to foster long-lasting relationships. Karen builds personalized, comprehensive financial plans that address clients financial goals and needs for everything from college savings plans to retirement savings plans, creating retirement income streams and estate planning.

Karen, her husband Eric and two young daughters live in Bellevue. In their free time, they enjoy being outdoors or anything to do with water. They also enjoy spreading love and have made it a mission to perform at least one random act of kindness every month.


Michael Demerath received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from St. Norbert College in 2003 and his law degree from DePaul University College of Law, with a Certificate in Taxation, in 2007. Mike, a native of Seymour, Wisconsin, began practicing in Chicago, Illinois before returning to the Green Bay area to be closer to his family.

Mike is currently with Hager, Dewick, & Zuengler, S.C. He also serves as President of the St. Norbert College Alumni Board, President of The First Tee of Northeast Wisconsin, a graduate of the Greater Green Bay Chamber Leadership Green Bay program, a 2015 Future 15 Young Professional Award recipient, and a past President of the Howard-Suamico Optimist Club. Mike and his wife, Sara, currently reside in Green Bay, along with their daughter and son.


Nicole Martin, RD, is a registered dietitian at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. She works with a team of dietitians that serve patients both in the hospital in Neenah and at specialty clinic locations throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

Registered dietitians assess the child’s nutritional status and reassess the child as needed to ensure that they are receiving good nutrition and growing appropriately. They teach how to introduce new foods, give tips on increasing calories in their child’s diet, and educate on administering formula or blenderized food through a feeding tube. Dietitians also work with schools and other providers to coordinate and streamline a child’s nutritional care.

Nicole is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics.
