Everyone knows Wisconsin is the Dairy State, but our food selections go far beyond the dairy aisle. In fact, coming to Wisconsin and only tasting our cheese is like ordering a hot fudge sundae and eating only the cherry on top.
Un-perfect Mom but not unfit... I have never been ordinary, regular, or the same as everyone else. And I was ALWAYS proud of that!! To me perfection is BORING! And that is most definitely not who or what I...
We need to keep the conversation about kindness alive year-round, not just on today – World Kindness Day.  Kindness needs to stay at the forefront.
Congratulations on completing your first year of parenting! As my own daughter just turned one- I’ve been able to reflect on the challenges, joys, and learning opportunities that I’ve encountered in the last 12 months. Here are some key things...
Surviving Snow Days

Surviving Snow Days

I am on day three of snow days this week, and another coming tomorrow.  I haven't left my house in three full days.  I am beginning to believe that no one knows any other words than "mama" at varying levels of volume.  Although I may be closer and closer to starting to drink wine at noon, there are some activities that I have been doing with my boys that have helped beat some winter blues.
It has been so rewarding to witness this community of parents come together to listen and support one another. And, every single day I am blown away by the fantastic group of contributors who take something none of us have enough of...time...to share their stories. Parenting can be overwhelming, but these voices let us know we are not alone. It's ok to struggle, cry, and to find humor in the imperfections of life.

It’s never too early to teach your children about giving back to the community, Mueller says, Ringing bells as a family will “provide an opportunity for parents to show their children how to give and become a donor. It is a rare occasion for a child to pass a kettle without begging his or her parent for change to drop in the kettle,” he adds. “Bell ringing really matters. It matters because we can all participate in something bigger than ourselves and teach our children to do the same.”
My daughter was born 4 years ago.  Her first summer was spent rolling around on the floor as her mama cheered on Team USA in the London Olympics.  She was a perfect baby, tall and lean.  My husband and...
One of my favorite parts of the day is when my kids are in bed. You read that correct! You might even be thinking - yes! Me too! I need some peace and quiet around here. But I don't mean what you are probably thinking! I mean the cuddle and reading time we get to spend as a family while they are in bed before they go to sleep. I love reading books to my kids!
