Ode to My Shower

I don’t have a big bathroom at all. It’s not fancy. The shower head is whatever WPS installed on their energy plan visit.  It’s not a walk-in or tile. I don’t even like the shower curtain anymore. But I LOVE my shower.  I mean LOVE.
When I ended the blog last time, I found myself sitting in the office of a pediatric rheumatologist with my 4 year old daughter, whose knee was the size of a softball, wondering how in the world we ended up here. We had been through knee aspirations at the surgery center, specialists, testing, etc., with no answers yet. Did kids really get arthritis? Or--was it something worse?
It's the final countdown to summer! You can smell the campfires in the air, the laughter of neighbor kids playing until darkness sets in and relaxation right around the corner! So what are you doing to celebrate the start...
Kids grow up fast. And their tastes and experiences are always changing and evolving; they aren’t “old and set in their ways” yet.  Which means I can still experiment with their music. While I still have control of the radio and a school-day commute, I’ll take advantage of it while I can….

President Reagan said the above in October 1988 when he declared October as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This year we wanted to find away to honor the precious lives of those we have celebrated and grieved. Moreover, we wanted to find away to commemorate these lives for all 12 months of the year rather than just the month of October. That said, we are introducing the Forever Loved Never Forgotten Memory Wall. This page will contain the names and dates of the lives lost too soon. If you'd like to add your child, we'd be honored to remember him or her with you. Simply email us at [email protected] and include the baby's name and date. For example, to honor a child lost through miscarriage, you'd email Baby Jones and indicate which month.
I currently am a momma of two little ones. I have a son who just turned 2 and a 6-week-old little girl. I realize I am in the thick of it, and most people would understand if I did...
Some moms surreptitiously sneak handfuls of candy into the trash can – or into their own mouths – until the stash is gone. I let my girls keep a few weeks’ worth of their favorite treats. This is how I sort out the rest:
