If you are looking for a fun new indoor activity to do with your kids or as a family this summer, you need to check out Catch Fire Creations! Catch Fire is located in Menasha, and is a 3D print studio. They offer some small pre-made fidgets, you can rent time on a 3D printer for a project, or you can walk in and create art. Similarly to the other”walk in and create” ceramic studios in the area, you can choose your project from the dozens they have displayed and paint it to your liking in their studio, but instead of being ceramic, these are 3D printed. (They even have an “Ope” bin for those less than perfect projects to be sold at a discount!)
As a mom on a budget, I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the projects were. My daughter did their featured project of the month (a wand) and a dog, and our total was $17 + tax. We were there for about 2 hours (could have stayed longer), and she was just so happy to do her art and listen to the music they were playing. I also appreciated that we didn’t need to wait for the projects to fire or anything – we used a provided fan to help them dry so we could take them with us.
There are also many completed projects displayed, which was really fun to see. My daughter recently got a 3D printer, so it was very cool for her to explore these beautiful, intricate pieces as an idea of what she could do as she learns more on her machine.
I cannot recommend it enough – my kiddo has already asked about bringing friends back and coming back a couple more times this summer.
Meet up with local parents at Green Bay Area Mom’s events. Check them out here.
